The yellow bondes (trams) that rattle their way up the cobbled hills of Santa Teresa are much-loved by locals and visitors alike, and this charming little museum charts the history of what was once the primary mode of transport in Rio de Janeiro. The tram tracks are long gone from the rest of the city, but this museum is replete with images and artifacts from the heyday of the of bonde. Fittingly, the museum is situated near the tram stop at Largo do Guimarães, and is well worth a visit while exploring this bohemian neighborhood. Entrance is free.
