Ora Pro Nobis, Rio de Janeiro

A little removed from the main strip of restaurants and bars in lively Santa Teresa, Ora Pro Nobis sits high on a hill, just a couple of minutes walk from Santa Teresa s fairytale-esque towered castle. Diners who make the effort to find the place are rewarded with delicious organic snacks, meals and juices, such as wholemeal cheese and broccoli quiche or stroganoff made with soya meat. The pocket-sized café has space for around 10 diners inside, with room for a handful more at the pavement tables outside. If there s no space, you can always buy a snack to take away. - Lucy Bryson
