Pizzaria do Chico, Rio de Janeiro

It might not be Rio's most glamorous dining option, but this unassuming little pavement pizzeria serves up what many locals rate the best pizza in Rio. Pizzaria do Chico is tucked away on a sidestreet in the residential neighborhood of Gloria, and prices are far more reasonable than those of the upscale restaurants of Ipanema and Leblon. Expect perfectly crispy, thin bases, subtly-seasoned tomato sauce and a host of toppings that range from simple cheese and tomato to more elaborate concotions involving eggs, spicy sausages, and super-fresh vegetables.
