Pizzaria Rainbow, Rio de Janeiro

In a modern glass kiosk right by the sands at Copacabana, Pizzaria Rainbow is a popular GLS—gays, lesbians and sympathizers—hangout that happily welcomes tourists. Open around the clock, the mini-restaurant offers live MPB music on Saturdays, while there is a lively drag show on Sundays starting at 9p (cover charge applies). The pizzas are a draw in themselves, of course, with the most popular order being the Rainbow: palm hearts, olives and ham. The food here is reasonably priced given the beachfront location, starting at R$20 for a 30-centimeter pizza.
