The Sala Cecília Meireles is nothing short of a historic landmark in Rio de Janeiro. Located on the site of what used to be one of the grandest hotels in Brazil, the theater was built at around 1948 in memory of the Brazilian poet and journalist, Cecília Meireles. Today, it is the house of various budding artists and performers. It has established itself among the topmost music venues in the city, especially for chamber music. The center features a beautifully built auditorium that is capable of seating a number of people, which makes Sala Cecília Meireles one of the best concert venues too.
