Lying around 25km to the west of Rio, the Vargem Grande neighborhood is fast developing a reputation as a Mecca for food lovers—and Skunna provides ample evidence as to why. Seafood dishes here are impeccable: try the shrimp with gruyere cheese and rice, or the platter of mixed grilled seafood. Portions are ample for two. Desserts here will tempt even the hardest dieter—don't miss the Sonho Mineiro, slices of candied guava baked in the oven with soft cheese, fruit sauce, and a very creamy ice cream.
