Tropeço, Rio de Janeiro

Tropeço roughly translates as "stumble," and you may well be stumbling home after sampling some of the strong caipirinhas and other cocktails on the drinks menu. Located in trendy Leblon, the bar is a lively example of the boteco (a traditional bar serving food as well as round after round of drinks). The name of the bar, according to the owners, pays homage to the fact that life's little stumbles and mistakes are part of what makes day-to-day life amusing and fun, and this is certainly not a bar that takes itself too seriously.
