Housed inside the left wing of Mosteiro da Luz, the Museu de Arte Sacra de São Paulo is a prime institution dedicated to preservation and exhibition of objects related to the scared art. The Mosteiro da Luz, an 18th Century colonial building, can be observed for its well-preserved elements and structure and also with respect to the fact that it has been listed as architectural monument of national interest. Since the installation of the museum in 1970, it has been host to more than 4000 collection of images, sculptures, silverware, oratories and paintings that were collected from the interior of the churches that were demolished in Sao Paulo. The Museu dos Presépios inside the museum is a section which showcases 120 specimens of paintings depicting Presépio Napolitano.
