Viña Undurraga was founded in 1885 by Francisco Undurraga Vicuña on his own land, which is situated 34 kilometers from Santiago on the road to Melipilla Antiguo. This was the first (and is currently the only) place to cultivate pre-phylloxera vines. Numerous dignitaries, including the Prince of Wales, Carlos de Borbón and Fernando de Babiera, have visited the vineyard. The beautiful gardens were designed by Pierre Dubois. Free, guided tours are available, which explain the bottling and labeling process and finish off in the gardens.
