Overview
Built more than two centuries ago by the architect Pio Domínguez, this cemetery is considered the most important in the country. Here lie the mortal remainders of former presidents, writers, poets, and political leaders. The chapel designed by Nicolás León is noteworthy, while the luxurious mausoleums and front were designed at the beginning of the 20th century by Julián Lombana.
