If you are thinking of visiting Quito, come in August. At this time of the year, days are sunny, and there is a fun, cultural atmosphere. In 1992, the city council started a project to make Quito "the cultural capital." For this reason there are a multitude of events organized during this time of the year, gathering the best in art, dance, theater, music, cinema and crafts, amongst other cultural events.
