Parque La Carolina, Quito

Found in the northern part of Quito, in a residential and commercial district, this is the largest park in the city and is situated near to shopping centercenters such as El Jardín Mall, Quicentro Shopping, Caracol and others. It boasts extensive leisure and recreational areas, such as a boating lake, children's playground, a football pitch, basketball and volleyball courts, a cyclo-cross track, skating rink, equestrian area, several food places and toilet facilities. The park is very popular on the weekends, especially the sports facilities. There are sporadic cycle-cross championships and arts festivals.
