  traveling for business Just came back from Panama after attending a two days meeting at the Continental. The first day, a brand new iPod touch was stolen from my room. I spoke to the hotel management, they started their search, and ended up saying I should place my claim to the police and should be more careful with my belongings! I've asked if they had a vault available since my notebook did not fit into the safety box ... or was I supposed to carry with me all my valuables when I left the room? The item was stolen from a private area accesible only with an electronic card! Security cameras seem only to work if they steal a mature pink elephant from your room. It is amazing that such a hotel would prefer losing image for US$300, unless they had previous incidents and they just protect their staff. The manager on duty, Mr Ricardo Philips, turned out to be completely useless and even annoying. If possible, avoid the hotel. If not ... be really careful.
