La Pizza Carlo, Cusco

La Pizza Carlo is tucked away in a quiet corner on Calle Maruri, where the solitary light above the door attracts the hungry to go and investigate. Inside you find an intimate pizzeria with a wood-fire stove in the corner. The chef prepares the pizza right beside it and throws it in. Sit on the table closest to the oven and you feel the full heat, perfect on a chilly evening at altitude. Because the place is not big enough to seat many people there isn't a long wait for your pizza - and they are delicious. Pizzas come in three sizes: individual, medium and family. -Richard Oldale
