The Parque Metropolitano Albarregas (Albarregas Metropolitan Park) is the largest park within the city of Mérida, with its 456 hectares and 17 kilometers extended along the West bank of the Albarregas River. Within this considerable space full of well-kept footpaths, gardens and bushes is the Museo Mariano Picón Salas, inaugurated on the 6 of December 1985 as an open-air museum. Here you will be able to take a pleasant stroll around while contemplating different medium and large-sized sculptures, all works by contemporary Venezuelan artists, in an attempt to integrate art and nature.
