Pastelería Mil Hojas, Merida

Like most of Mérida's other "panadería-pastelería" (bakery-pastry) shops, the Pastelería Mil Hojas sells more than just dough and whipped cream. With the slogan "Give your palate a treat", they help you do just that with their national and European recipe pies, plus cakes and pastries from around the region, priced between Bs 250 and Bs 450 each. The shop's ample facilities also contain a large counter from which you can purchase diverse types of cheeses and cured meats, traditional bread such as the Andean variety, and butter or milk breads at an average cost of Bs 550. And finally, there is a cafe-restaurant that offers a complete menu of pizzas, Italian dishes and Andean mountain trout.
