Birgitz, Innsbruck

Birgitz, located at 860 meters above sea level and numbering about 1300 inhabitants, is the neighboring village of Axams. The great skiing area Axamer Lizum with approximately 30km of pistes is very close by. Tyrol's capital, Innsbruck, is also very near, viz. 8km. Around Innsbruck, there are many skiing regions with several hundred kilometers of pistes in total. All of them are in reach if you're staying at Birgitz, they can be accessed by buses fast and comfortably. The character of Birgitz is rather rural, and you will find any kind of accommodation ranging from farmhouses to three-star hotels. The village is quite well equipped for guests planning a family holiday: there is a local skiing school, 10km of cross-country skiing runs connected to the larger region's runs with a total of 48 kilometers, and a natural toboggan run ten(!) kilometers long. You should also watch out for events like the moonshine hike organized by professional mountain guides
