Café Pizzeria Palermo, Innsbruck

Palermo has no less than 40 different pizzas, all with crispy bases. There's the Spinaci Pizza as well as a weekly "surprise pizza." About 20 different pasta dishes are available alongside a fine range of Southern Tyrolean specialities (rare for a pizzeria), such as spinach dumplings and filled Schlutzkrapfen (a sort of potato and cheese fritter) served with plenty of melted butter and freshly grated parmesan. The décor is colorful: red and yellow stone walls create a pleasant, warm and summery atmosphere. The simple stools and unfussy tables weren't designed for a stampede of guests staying for hours; Palermo is known for quick service combined with great presentation. The time between ordering and being served is usually 10 minutes.
