Schwarzer Adler Restaurant, Innsbruck

Schwarzer Adler Restaurant is a spectacular restaurant, located in the cellar of the equally spectacular four-star Schwarzer Adler Hotel, a lovely 16th Century establishment. The whitewashed walls and thick stone pillars, lend the place an authentic feel. Run by the Ultsch family for several generations, the food is traditional but excellent. The cream of potato soup is legendary and the fish dishes, exquisite. Try the fillet of salmon and perch on herb rice. The wine list features an abundance of the so-called "romantic" wines, amongst them a Cuvet Prestige Zweigelt, a Blaufränkisch and a light Grüner Veltliner from Mautern on the Danube.
