Overview
Beginning just a few kilometers south of Innsbruck, the 35 kilometer long Stubai valley leads through some of Austria's most stunning countryside. The valley is surrounded by some 80 glaciers and 40 mountains including the enormous Zuckerhütl. The road winds past the villages of Mieders, Telfes, Neustift and Fulpmes (containing a fascinating iron smith's museum) to the Stubai Glacier, a year-round ski resort. The village shops offer a selection of tasty, home-made specialties like cold meats, honey and bread. The valley contains several hiking trails, mountain bike routes and the Greifvogelpark, a zoo specializing in birds of prey.
