Overview
Linzergasse has been the main thoroughfare on this side of the Salzach River from Roman times. It was the exit from the capital towards Linz, Vienna and the northeastern kingdom of the Habsburgs. This street, with its butchers, bakers, clockmakers, chemists and all those other things people need for daily life, has always been the practical counterpart to its elegant sister, the Getreidegasse. Next to Sebastiankirche with its Sebastianfriedhof, hotels, cafés and restaurants complete the picture.
