The State Rooms inside the medieval residence of the Salzburg bishops were used by the prince archbishops to host various ceremonies. These are located next to the Carabinierisaal inside the Residenz and is beautifully decorated with frescoes created by artists Michael Rottmayr and Martino Altomonte. However, much of the works seen inside the rooms were done by Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt at the end of the 18th Century. Today, these rooms are open to public for tours and are used for various international conventions and events held by the Salzburg Government.
