Built in the late 1870s, Ehrbar Saal has had a long history of music events and concerts. Some of the finest composers and musicians have graced this stage which include names such as Pietro Mascagni, Johannes Brahms, Max Reger and Anton Bruckner among others. During the World War I, the concert hall fell into disrepair and was even used as a makeshift hospital. Over the past, the hall regained momentum as a prime events venue after many reconstructions and repair works. The concert hall gained full regularity in the year 2005, and since then has hosted many concerts and stage performances by leading Austrian as well as international artists and musicians. The Ehrbar Saal, with its rich history and unforgettable concerts, is thus a must visit while in the city.
