Overview
St. Anne's Church (Annakirche) is a beautiful exponent of Gothic architecture coupled with Baroque-styled art work. The church is named after Saint Anne, whose relic (a mummified hand) is exhibited in the church every year on the 26th of July (St. Anne's Day). The chapel is said to have been in existence since 1320. Exquisite frescoes, created by Daniel Gran, adorn its ceilings. These frescoes are timeless pieces of art, and undoubtedly the chief attractions of the chapel. Situated in the heart of Vienna in the inner city area, Annakirche is a prominent venue for concerts, community functions and various church activities. You certainly cannot miss this historic landmark!
