Tichy, Vienna

For many adults, childhood memories come alive here: Many years ago, when there were not as many ice-cream parlors in Vienna as nowadays, the whole family used to make a trip to Tichy. At the end of the spring terms, a crowd of parents came here to get their kids a reward for some good marks in their reports. The place is still always crowded, and you will have to queue for a while. But it's really worth it; the ice-cream they sell is still one of the best in town and the choice is large. There's also a special creation available, called Eismarillenknödel (ice-dumplings with apricot filling), maybe unique in the world.
