Overview

Built in 1611 as a Church of the Holy Trinity by German Lutherans, the church was re-dedicated to Our Lady of Victory in 1620 by the Carmelite order after the Catholic party won the the Battle of the White Mountain. Though the Roman building itself is quite impressive and has survived many wars and changes in administration, the church is most renowned for housing a 47-centimeter (18.5-inch) wax statue known as the Infant Jesus of Prague, which was made in Spain sometime in the early 16th Century. Visitors come to the church to find peace and look upon the beneficent face of the statue.
