Triton Restaurant, Prague

The contrast is stark between the bright, renovated Hotel Adria at street level and the cave-like interior (complete with impressions of scenes from ancient mythology) of its restaurant below. Yet there is something about the unusual ambience of the place which makes it popular with locals, business folk and tourists. Candle-lit and romantic, the restaurant offers French and international dishes alongside more standard Czech fare. A good selection of French and Moravian wines complement the cuisine. Worth a visit for its originality alone, the Triton's live acts often even get the place jumping.
