Overview
The Helsinki City Museum, established in 1911, presents the history of the Helsinki area. The museum building was designed by architect Lars Sonck, and finished two years after the foundation of the museum, even though the museum only moved into it in the 1990s. Originally the building belonged to the Stockmann department store and had only three floors (two floors were added in 1919-1921).
