Even if you don't speak Swedish, you can drop into this pleasant café within the Swedish Theatre. The stylish and spacious premises are located on a very central spot, at the end of Esplanadi park, across the street from Stockmann. They serve a café au lait that some claim to be the best in town, but also a variety of other coffees and teas are available. With your hot drink you can have pastries, sugary buns, croissants, sweets or ice cream. Other refreshments include juices, spring waters and soft drinks. The café has a beer and wine licence, so you can also enjoy slightly stronger beverages. The bookshop in the café has lots of books in Finnish, Swedish and English, ranging from prose fiction, literary criticism and philosophy to theatre studies.
