Savu, Helsinki

The name of the restaurant means "smoke", and they seem to be the only restaurant in the world who prepare all of their dishes by using the traditional method of smoke-curing. The restaurant is located on an island on the eastern shore of the city, in an old storehouse that was built in 1805 for storing tar. At Savu you can feast on snails, beef, salmon or lamb, or go vegetarian with the lovely Tar Master's Pie. Finish your dinner with their famous pancakes with different sauces and ice cream.
