The 105 hectare area of Uutela is located on the east side of Helsinki. The nature trail here is about four kilometres long; the terrain of the trail is mainly dry and easy to walk on. Along the trail there are 22 signs to inform visitors about the nature. Interesting things to see include signs of the ice age and the vegetation of an old seacoast that is quite rare in the Helsinki area. When walking, please remember not to litter or damage the nature. Besides the trail there is the historical mansion of Skatta, and in Skatanniemi you can see a fortress system dating from the times of the First World War. Uutela is about 16 kilometres from the centre of Helsinki and you can get there on any bus from Itäkeskus to Vuosaari. You can also take the underground to Vuosaari. You can get brochures about nature trails in Helsinki from Helsinki Information.
