Fort Sainte Agathe was constructed under an edict of King François I of France in 1531. The building is quite well-preserved, and presents a fascinating glimpse of past architectural and military styles. It offers an exceptional view of the surrounding land and sea from the tower. Fort Sainte Agathe is located on the charming island of Porquerolles, about 100 kilometers outside of Marseille.
