Route du Rhum, Marseille

La Route du Rhum is a Caribbean restaurant on the Cours Julien plaza. The appetizers are pretty much typical: boudin sausages, samosas--some very good specialties. As for the main course, although the menu mentions specialty dishes they are fairly basic and not too elaborated. But people come here especially for the lengthy list of rum. From Ti punch to Daiquiri to Planters Rum: any rum cocktail is available, and if it's not on the menu, the waitress will be happy to mix it for you. The lunch menu is very interesting, but it is a bit more expensive in the evening. Once a week on Thursdays, Route du Rhum becomes a dance floor where the whole neighborhood comes to get their groove on! - P.Wicki
