Overview

The Basilica of Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc is situated next to the Église Saint-Denys de la Chapelle, believed to be the place where Joan of Arc prayed one night in 1429. The construction of the modern church was initiated in 1930 and its design was based on the one by architect George Closson. However, it was only in 1964 that its construction was completed under the guidance of architect Pierre Isnard, with windows decorated by Leon Zack and the statue of Joan de Arc created by Maxime Real del Sarte.
