Overview

This authentic French bistro with a red canvas awning welcomes patrons to sample delicious local cuisine accompanied by some exquisite wines. Bistrot du Sommelier was started by sommelier Philippe Faure-Brac at the young age of 24, the restaurant is known all over Paris for its wine collection. Patrons can order from their set menus or dine a la carte, pairing their meals with some of the best red, white and rose wines. Two private dining rooms are available for meetings, family dinners and other gatherings. Reservations are required.

  They offer a "surprise" dinner, pairing their selection of courses with various wines. Just tell them foods you do not like or are allergic to, and they present you with dishes you most likely would never have thought of. Such an experience is typically outside the comfort zone for my wife and me, but we were feeling adventurous. It was a truly pleasant experience. The wine pairings were very good, and they described each wine, its region and grapes, after you had tasted and tried to guess its origin.
