Le Falstaff, Paris

While this restaurant and bar serves fine food, there are two reasons it is exceptional. The first is the view: the restaurant overlooks Place de la Bastille, and, especially if you get a table outside, you're right in the middle of all the excitement. The other advantage of this brasserie is its late opening hours: every other Saturday, it remains opened until 5a in the morning. Coincidentally, this is right when the first metro starts running in the morning, which means that if you're out in Bastille or Oberkampf until last call, at around 2a, and you've missed the last metro (by about two hours), you can stop here for a coffee, a freshly made pizza or a choucroute to wait until morning. -Emily Monaco
