Overview

The Synagogue des Tournelles adheres to the practices of Sefardic Judaism and provides space for up to 1366 people to be seated, with the majority on the ground floor and two additional floors above. The building was constructed in 1876 with assistance by the internationally known Gustave Eiffel. Inside, the nave is 21 meters high (69 feet), and the elaborate fa├žade features depictions of the Tablets of the Law and the heraldic shield of Paris. The synagogue is a member of the ACIP (Consistoire de Paris).
