Overview
Created through an international collaboration of French, American, and Italian architects and inaugurated in 1958, the Maison de l'Unesco has stood as a symbol for world culture and cooperation for decades. The main building stands seven stories tall and is shaped like a three-pronged star, next to the cubical "accordion" structure for permanent delegations and non-governmental organizations. It hosts dance, opera, and concert performances, conferences and debates, festivals and celebrations. The Maison presents marvelous cultural opportunities to visitors and citizens of Paris.
