The locals have never really accepted this 1970's construction. Despite this, it's a sunny, open space, far from the noise of traffic, and quite a good place to have lunch (there are several small cafés). The tall residential buildings surrounding the esplanade give it a big-town atmosphere, somewhat different to the rest of the city, and perhaps the reason for its unpopularity. The underground level is a shopping mall with a supermarket and lots of small shops.
