Destille, Berlin

As traditionally German as it gets in the metropolitan and international Mehringdamm, Destille has been serving beer to Kreuzberg locals for over 100 years. Everything that one expects from an old German pub is to be found here: from its low-lit and smoky interior and stacks of old beer glasses and tankards lining the walls, to its old tin advertising posters and folk instruments such as accordions, guitars, bugles and drums hanging from the ceiling. A decent range of on-tap beers and liquers, and the hosting of karaoke nights and sport screenings ensure continuing popularity with tourists and locals alike.
