Gri Gri, Berlin

The location on the banks of the atmospheric Landwehrkanal could hardly be better—close, but not too close, to dozens of other buzzing gastronomic establishments on busy Paul-Lincke-Ufer. In the warm summer months, guests can sit on the terrace under the shade of an old chestnut tree and watch the ships drift slowly down the canal. But there's more to Gri Gri than just atmosphere. The cuisine is excellent, an imaginative mix of local and Mediterranean dishes. Whether it be southern German pasta squares or gnocchi with rocket, meat pie or salmon steak—everything is fabulous.
