This open-air museum, in the south of Berlin, has a reconstructed medieval village complete with thatched cottages, store houses, paddocks and stalls for farm animals such as pigs, oxen, sheep and goats. Smiths, potters, cobblers and weavers can also be found here, working with ancient tools and using centuries-old techniques. Museumsdorf Düppel is open from the end of March until the beginning of October. Visits to the museum village outside the opening times are possible under a special tour. Please check the website for more details.
