The richly decorated orange brick façade and the octagonal dome of the Postfuhramt look like a Renaissance church or a prince's castle, but this beautiful building on the Oranienburger Straße was originally used for something much more sober, as a collection point for the German Post Office. Erected in 1875, the former post office is now used as a venue for exhibitions and lectures. While the façade has been restored to its former glory, the interior has been left untouched. But this somehow adds to the unique flair of this wonderful old building.
