Ristorante Zagato, Berlin

Tucked away near the end of Bergmanstrasse, Ristorante Zagato offers an authentic taste of Northern Italy on one of Kreuzberg's most lively boulevards. The interior is unassuming and inviting; the ceiling is plastered with Italian newspapers, the walls are lined with pictures of vintage Italian cars and ocean liners, and the music is typically bright and buoyant, ranging from old-time jazz to Verdi arias. The convivial owners from Bologna and Venice serve a mouth-watering range of no-nonsense dishes, such as gnocchi with pesto and veal in parsley sauce.
