Overview
Originally this unique Bonn memorial was located on the Rhine Bridge, which was destroyed in 1945. When the bridge was first built, the Beuel residents didn't want to put up so much money to fund it, although they were the main users of the bridge. Other Bonn residents were so annoyed by this that they built this so-called 'Little Bridge Man' on the bridge when it was opened. The stone figure has his naked backside facing the Beuel side of the river. Today, the Beuelers take it all in their stride with good humour and passers-by always laugh on seeing the 'Little Bridge Man'.
