The Gallery Schüppenhauer was created in 1980 in Essen, and focused at the time on minimalist, constructivist, and multimedia works. In 1987 the Gallery moved to Cologne, where it still remains today. Hanging next to works of well known artists are pieces by unknown/up-and-coming artists. This gives an important opportunity for those yet unknown to introduce themselves and their work to the art community. In the changing exhibits one can find a wide spectrum of styles such as collage, digital art, painting, sculpture, and visual poetry. They Gallery also takes part in art conventions such as ArtCologne, Kunst Zürich, Riparte Rom, ARCO Madrid and FIAC Paris.
