Sumo, Cologne

The Sumo Restaurant and Sushi Bar, with its broad selection of dishes, is situated very near the Millowitsch-Theater. You can read a short story in the menu of how sushi originated as well as a description of the contents of each dish. The starters are still corresponding to the traditional manner in which food is prepared and, for the European palate, take some getting used to. The bitter tasting 'Natto' starter is a hard test for the Europeans as is the sour tasting sea algae in vinegar ('Mozuku'). The meals are consumed in a brightly lit, amicably furnished room. Enjoy!
