This establishment dates back to the mid 18th century, to the days when the gentry sat in one corner and the common folk in the other. Even today social distinctions are clearly perceptible and the clientèle is a fairly colorful lot. It is definitely worth sampling the solid, homely cooking. The kassler (boiled ham) being particularly good. The service is of a high standard, although at peak times there are not quite enough waiters to go round.
