Overview
In the idyllic heart of Düsseldorf Kaiserswerth, a district land mark can be found in the form of a cluster of three houses - the Gimborn house, the Romanic house and the neighboring Marien hospital. The Gimborn house, which is located on the north corner of Suitbertus Stiftsplatz, was built in 1703 and reflects a typical residential home of that period. Initially this dwelling was home to a family called Gimborn but throughout the years the building has housed different organizations and has had many different functions. Beautifully restored since its destruction during the Second World War, the Gimborn house, along with its neighbors, creates a striking architectural ensemble. -Shannon McKenna
