Zum Einhorn, Dusseldorf

House number 26 on Kaiserswerther Markt was built in 1734 and originally contained a schnapps distillery. Today the popular beer house in the heart of Kaiserswerth is also a traditional restaurant with an atmospheric terrace located on the district's main square. Focusing primarily on German cuisine, Einhorn (which means unicorn) offers a varied selection of traditional dishes as well as international standards such as Cordon Bleu, penne with mozzarella or baked potatoes. During asparagus season (from mid April to mid June) Zum Einhorn provides a special menu that includes a number of asparagus favorites such as asparagus in butter, with ham or with hollandaise sauce. -Shannon McKenna
